What to expect?

Duration: Approx. 4–5 hours (including breaks and lunch) Group size: minimum 2 - maximum 6 participants Distance: Approx. 7–8 km Elevation gain: Approx. 500–600 m Highest point: Golica – 1,836 m This scenic hike leads to Golica (1,836 m), a classic Karavanke peak known for its open grassy ridges and wide panoramic views toward the Julian Alps and Austria. The route follows forest trails and alpine meadows before reaching the airy summit ridge, offering a relaxed and enjoyable mountain experience. A lunch break at a mountain hut is included, with vegetarian options available. Difficulty: Easy to moderate – suitable for hikers with good fitness and trail walking experience. Terrain: Forest paths, alpine meadows, open grassy ridges. Footwear: Sturdy hiking shoes or boots required. Weather: Route and timing may be adjusted due to weather or trail conditions. What to Bring: Hiking shoes or boots Comfortable hiking clothing Warm layers and a wind/rain jacket Water (at least 1–1.5 liters) Snacks Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) Not Suitable For: Children under 10 years old People with limited mobility Guests with no basic hiking experience Individuals with severe fear of heights Anyone with serious heart, balance, or joint conditions Participants not accustomed to uphill walking
